Why Hot Java is a sexy brew… #NationalCoffeeDay #amwriting
Posted by Jina Bacarr
Every girl is looking for a pot of gold…why not a golden coffee cup? Love this photo. Rich, decadent…what makes it better is when you share it with your favorite guy…so here’s to Hot Java!
I hope you enjoy my poem for National Coffee Day:
HOT JAVA
Java is a girl’s best friend
When you don’t want that special night to end
“Stick around for a cup of Joe,” you say
After a night in bed that blew you away
Then watch his eyes glow with desire
When you put on the coffee and light his fire
Wearing a sexy black teddy, tight and see-through
You ask, “Eggs or cinnamon buns with your brew?”
“I’ll have the buns,” he says, eyeing yours with a smile
You shiver with glee. The coffee can wait for awhile
It’s back to bed with your man for round two
And to coffee you say, a big “Thank you!”

Batter Up with Strawberry Kisses for #NationalPancakeDay with Liberty and the Major
Posted by Jina Bacarr
During the Civil War, soldiers dipped hardtack into their coffee for breakfast.
But for today on National Pancake Day, I’m going to break precedent and serve Strawberry Kisses with Liberty and the Major…
(Liberty is my time traveling heroine in LOVE ME FOREVER and the Major is Major Flynt Stephens of the Union Army Medical Corps.)
Enjoy!

#GreatAmericanPotPieDay teams up with the Great American Hunk
Posted by Jina Bacarr
Today is the autumnal equinox. The first official day of fall.
Sexy cashmere sweaters, falling leaves on the tip of your nose, pumpkin spice on everything.
And piping hot chicken pot pies with thick, chewy crust and everything swirling in creamy gravy.
The Great American Pot Pie Day.
No…wait…it’s hot and muggy here and with the temps hitting the mid-90s this week, the goddess of summer will not let go. Look at the shirtless guy in my pic.
Would you?
So as a tribute to everything we loved about summer including hot, shirtless guys, enjoy your chicken pot pie and the hunky hero from my Kindle Scout winner, LOVE ME FOREVER.
Who knows…maybe if we’re lucky, summer will stick around a little bit longer…

Time Travel Tuesday: #DearDiaryDay and a spicy tale to keep you up at nights
Posted by Jina Bacarr
Dear Diary,
I’m a time traveler. Yes, it’s true. I traveled back in time to 1862 during the bloodiest day of the Civil War. Antietam. There I met up with sexiest, handsomest major in the Union Army. He wanted to know all about the stretchy bandage I used to save a man’s life. You see, they didn’t have such bandages back then…and they didn’t know much about germs…and no one ever heard of triage.
But that wasn’t on my mind when I brushed up against this gorgeous hunk. I couldn’t stop staring at this magnificent male…his presence sending my head spinning.
Only one problem…
I was disguised as a Rebel officer.
He had no idea I was a female under all that blood and dirt.
What was a girl to do? Tell him, and who knows. They’d probably shoot me or something. How did I get back to 1862? Well, dear Diary, it happened like this…

From LOVE ME FOREVER
“Stop firing, stop!” she cried out, a crazed frustration shooting through her, every instinct sharpened. The next blast was louder than the last, the vibration slamming through her and ripping through the cold, damp earth.
No!
Liberty let out an anguished cry and dove to the ground. She could hear the cannon firing, then the mortar blast, the shell speeding toward her like a torpedo amid a shower of bluish-gray smoke. Feel the heat. There’s no way out. She put her hands over her head and braced herself for the end, muttering a prayer but begging to live.
Then the unthinkable happened.
A haunting sound like the eerie wail of a ghost filled her ears, making the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Then a wild vibration shook her to the core, jarring every nerve in her body. Hot fire poked her in the eyes. Her teeth felt like they were being yanked out by their roots.
She cried out in horror.
I’m hit.
Pain, unbearable pain stabbed her, piercing her everywhere. Racking shudders gripped her, making it impossible for her to control her movements. Hands, arms, legs flying in all directions. An unknown force pulling them from their sockets.
Liberty closed her eyes and tried to make the pain stop by sheer willpower, but it was so vicious, so deep, it made her torment worse. Ripping her apart, pulling and twisting her body into awkward, painful positions. Tearing the flesh from her bones.
Before she could take another breath, a great wind blew in her face. Twirling her round and round like an out-of-control comet hurtling through deepest, blackest space. A tumult of dizziness made her sick to her stomach as she fought back the bitter taste of bile rising in her throat.
I’m going to be sick.
Then, when she thought she couldn’t take it anymore, an unbelievable cold grabbed her. So cold she swore her heart stopped.
Yes, stopped. And a blankness settled in her.
No pain. No feeling.
Her desire to run . . . so urgent and heated . . . gone.
This was maddening, but what could she do? She swore a long, dark shadow swelled around her, claiming her soul.
She couldn’t speak, couldn’t move. Her thoughts slipping away . . . tempting her to let go.
Let go.
No, I don’t want to let go . . . I want to live.
I want to—
Then nothing.
Oh, God, I must be dead.

Time Travel Tuesday: Love Me Forever #CivilWar time travel romance #amwriting

Ever have a bad day, wish you could go back and start again?
We all have. Days when the sun won’t shine, the rain falls sideways, and our hair frizzles up like a used cotton ball.
It ain’t gonna happen.
Time travel as we’ve come to know it through films and books is based more on imagination than science…or is it? From wormholes to stargates, writers have taken what scientists believe could make time travel possible and devised their own time machines.
I love time travel. LOVE ME FOREVER takes us back to 1862 to find out what it was like to be a Southern Belle and a spy. My heroine impersonates her exact twin…and falls in love with the woman’s fiancé, a handsome Union Army major.
Oh, my, what’s a time traveling heroine to do?
Two women…one man—things heat up to a boiling point when only one of the women can marry the handsome major…it really is fun imagining all sorts of thing happening when you travel back through time, especially when the heroine knows the North will win. It also places a great responsibility on her: what if she could change history? Save lives?
What would you do?
She wore gray.
He wore blue.
But their love defied the boundaries of war.
And time.
