He’s so fine… Love Me Forever Day 20

He’s so fine…the major, that is. Liberty has fallen in love with the handsome Union Army surgeon when she travels back to 1862…and meets up with her twin, Pauletta Sue, a Confederate spy.

Who happens to be engaged to the major.

What’s a girl to do? The major thinks she’s a spoiled Tennessee belle. She can’t tell him she’s from the future…

They headed down the path toward the gazebo, the silence between them unnerving. A cold wind blew through her skirts, sending a chilly breeze up her pantaloons. Her whole body trembled with yearning, desire. Dark clouds loomed overhead, like bulbous messengers of the great rains yet to come.

Was that a raindrop, then two landing on her forehead?

They took shelter under the enclosed dome in the gazebo. Warm and secret, hiding them from prying eyes. The power of the silence between reached a crescendo when Flynt took her in his arms and held her close to him. He didn’t look at her, but she could feel him breathing hard. He stood perfectly still as if he could think better if he didn’t move a muscle. He seemed perplexed and she had the feeling he was testing her.

He’s wondering why I don’t tell him I love him. I can’t. It would only hurt him if he found out the truth.

She could take the risk and tell him what was in her heart. That she’d never love another man, in this time or any other, but she’d never forgive herself if her recklessness caused him pain.

She wore gray.
He wore blue.
But their love defied the boundaries of war.
And time.

LOVE ME FOREVER is on Kindle Scout — you can read the first 5,000 words HERE. You’ll meet both my heroines and both my heroes in the excerpt. If you nominate my story and it’s published by Kindle Scout, then you’ll receive a free copy!

It’s a saga of love and romance and war. Believe me, I walked every road, fought every battle with my characters, even walked around in a hoop skirt to “get it right.”

This is a book of the heart…any questions? Please ask!!

I’ll be back tomorrow with more about LOVE ME FOREVER and the Civil War…

If anyone feels like sharing a vote…I’ll be forever grateful!

Thank you for stopping by.
