Here are my 7 sentences from Chapter One of “A Soldier’s Italian Christmas:”

“American?” Her voice changed. “Oh, thank God,” she said in English.

Mack turned around slowly and saw a young woman holding a gun on him. She bent down and turned up the wick on the lantern sitting on the ground and light flooded the small courtyard. He didn’t breathe until he was certain she wouldn’t shoot him. Dark, beautiful eyes flecked with amber sucked the fatigue right out of him.

  1. It must have taken you ages to put that video together – it usually takes me a day to do a short video that’s less than 5 minutes!

    • You’re so right, Demelza. It took hours–not to just to put the video together, but to find the right photos and get the motion sensors right, the music, the accents, etc. So happy to meet another author who does videos!! It’s a great way to reach out to readers to enhance their reading experience. What’s your website?

      • I’m at http://demelzacarlton.com/ – I spent most of this week on a 16 minute video (background to the books, though I’ve done some trailers and readings, too). Some of my photos are sourced on foot with a camera, but I’m only a landscape and wildlife photographer, so the people come from stock photos and such.

  2. Love your website, Demelza! Amazing videos. Very informative…and I can see the work you put into them. Kudos to you! I use royalty free photos–I have shot my own pix in the past with more of a still life feel to them. Antique fabrics, jewelry, items, etc. Please keep in touch–I’d like to see where you go next with your videos. Best of luck with your stories!! Happy Holidays!
